  1. When I watch the simulator in action, the motion seems really intense. Why is the simulator made with such excessive motion?

Good simulation allows the participant to become fully immersed in the event. The more identical the simulation is to the actual event, the more realistic the simulation.  A race car, for example, traveling at speeds of 150 miles/hour or more would produce tremendous centrifugal and G forces on the driver in the cockpit.

The Blue Tiger simulator’s seats, controls, and monitors all move with the rider, providing the strongest motion and visual cues for complete experiential immersion. While a bystander views lots of motion, it is an entirely different experience for the driver.  The driver doesn’t see the motion but instead feels the motion as though he is in a moving vehicle - not simply moving around inside a vehicle. The controls and monitor move with the driver, keeping the point of reference consistent regardless of movement. This is critical for position, pitch and roll movement to be convincingly perceived as acceleration, braking, and centrifugal force.

Quite simply, the only way to recreate those forces is through our full motion simulation. The only way to recreate momentum and inertia is through movement. In order to create good simulation, the proper environment is necessary. Placing the simulator in a room against a blank wall, utilizing a helmet to recreate the proper field of vision of the racetrack, and adding earphones for most accurate sound feedback allows the rider to focus, becoming more and more immersed in an incredibly realistic experience after only a few laps.

We are not the only ones saying this; here is a quote from a recent article in Circle Track Magazine,

"This thing is unreal. When can I buy one? It doesn't take long and you are completely into the
experience. The feeling is so realistic and it completely ties in what you see to what you're
feeling as you sit in the seat. The fact that you are strapped in makes the slightest motion
of the seat transfer to your body instantly. The Blue Tiger is the best racing simulator
I've ever had the opportunity to use to date.

  2.  I love the simulator, but after driving it for a while I feel like there’s too much motion.

Much like a true race car can be adjusted and calibrated for a different road track or oval course, the cars that are accessed through our software allow for numerous options to tweak and fine-tune the vehicle to your liking.  The range of motion is infinitely adjustable from no feedback effects to full force feedback.

  3. What do I do if the simulator breaks down?

To properly answer this question let’s begin with a better understanding of the durability of these simulators.   The parent company of BlueTiger has a 30 year history of industrial design and manufacturing and as such our simulator was designed to last for 10 years of commercial heavy-duty industrial use.  The same motors that power the simulator are used in manufacturing for conveyor belts that run 24 hours a day for years and years of operation.

That being said, the manufacturer offers a 1 year warranty for against any defects except for neglect.  As an Authorized BlueTiger dealer, Velocity Terminal is a Red Barn Technology Group company, whose core business is the high performance computing products. Velocity Terminal offers warranties of up to three years at an additional cost. Our warranty is simple.  If the simulator breaks down, we will ship the correct part or entire assembly at our charge in advance and wait for the return of your simulator so that it can be repaired or replaced.  There is no maintenance, and all parts are field replaceable. Because of its elegantly simple engineering the entire full range of motion requires only two motors, and one logic board.

The first year of full warranty is included, and extended warranties are available at $395 per year, for each additional year up to three years.  Velocity Terminal is committed to your satisfaction and will not rest until you are completely satisfied.

  4. Will the simulator become obsolete?  How many cars and tracks are available?

One of the unique features of the simulator is that it simply will never become out of date.
The simulator is best viewed as a large PC peripheral the simply interprets the physics engine of the software.  All of the software can be downloaded or is available online.  Currently, one can comfortably say that over 750 tracks are available. There are several hundred vehicles that would appeal to the most serious racer Including open wheel, Nascar, Vintage cars, Sports Cars, Dirt cars, etc)  as well as to the rider that simply seeks entertainment (Off-Road Trucks, rally cars, Karts, UPS Trucks, even Lawn Mowers). The options for every rider are continually expanding as more and more vehicles are continually being created for use with the Blue Tiger simulator. So as the software performance and availability gets better, so does the BlueTiger!

  5. Is the simulator hard to install/set up?

Depending on your geographic location, the simulator will either be shipped directly from BlueTiger, or delivered from our facility on the East Coast.  It comes complete with detailed instructions with only five pieces to install. The computer will be pre-configured to your specifications with software fully installed to your desired car set-up and road courses/tracks. Ongoing quarterly updates are available for a quarterly subscription fee of $250
  6. We also offer services for personal delivery, set-up, and initial training.

  7. Will the simulator work with the PC I already have in my home/office?

We recommend that you purchase the computer that comes with the simulator. The simulator should have its own computer hardware system, as it is generally not very practical to use your personal or business computer for the simulator.  Our install is very lean and delivers the optimal power providing the most immersive experience. It is not recommended the PC is used for anything besides the BlueTiger.

  8. How much customization can be done on the simulator?

There is little you cannot do to personalize the Blue Tiger Simulator.  Our goal in offering the simulator is to allow people to purchase the components they need to make it their own. For example, the client selects the seat, steering wheel, and pedals, and we consult with the client at the time of the order to customize the track and car software that will be pre-installed on the computer at installation.
  9. The simulator is great for promotional purposes. We have the capability to provide businesses with graphics with their own company logo to mount around the cone of the simulator and just above the screens.
For racers, we can create Mods, accurate replicas of the specific race car you drive.
Ask us, and we will work to make it happen for you on your simulator.

  10. Can I link my simulator to another simulator for racing purposes?

Simulators can be linked up to race on the same tracks. Additionally simulators can be connected online, so that you can literally race friends half way across the world.

  11. You keep talking about the full motion simulator for racing, but how does the simulator work for flight simulation?

The BlueTiger Full Motion Simulator simply interprets the physics information and the commands provided to it through the software. As such, the engineered design of the simulator allows you as a user to make a few adjustments to use the simulator for flight simulation. The only requirement is additional flight sim software, as well as flight sim controllers.
  12. The BlueTiger offers a controller shelf to replace the steering assembly with a controller shelf that installs a Yoke assembly. Controls for the throttle, rudders, flaps, and air/fuel mixture are also available.
